This past week was the start of the baseball season as MLB teams reported to spring training in either Florida or Arizona. The New York Yankees reported with a lot of headlines including some new faces like ace Garrett Cole. Perhaps the issue of most concern for Yankees fans is the health of the players returning from injury. Miguel Andujar, Giancarlo Stanton, Louis Severino and Aaron Judge are all returning from offseason rehabilitation. Both Andujar and Stanton look to be close to 100 percent and will be good to go for opening day barring any setbacks. Aaron Judge had offseason shoulder surgery and was throwing for the first time this week and will be cleared to hit within the next couple weeks. Judge when asked about his readiness said that he feels great and will definitely be ready to go for opening day which is great news for the organization. Unfortunately, there have been a few setbacks with the health of the pitching staff most recently with Louis Severino leaving practice with discomfort in his throwing arm. This could cause him to miss a little time to start the season joining already injured teammate James Paxton who is already slated to miss the first couple months of the season. The health of Stanton, Judge and Andujar is very promising, but the Yankees pitching staff may be limping into the season with Paxton and Severino both set back by recent injuries.
